Wing foiling for people with disabilities

Reunion Kite Academy offers the first Sit’n’Wing course in Italy dedicated to people with disabilities.
It is a structured yet highly customizable program, designed to adapt to different physical needs, levels of experience, and any individual challenges of the student.
The goal is to provide the skills needed to safely manage equipment, environment, and navigation, guiding the student toward progressive independence on the water.
Each phase of the course—from onshore preparation to water sessions—is tailored to the individual, with a strong focus on safety, risk management, and the development of personal abilities.

FAQs

Yes, the spot is also selected based on accessibility. We always assess the conditions and, when necessary, adapt the water entry procedures to ensure maximum safety and ease of access.

Yes, there are accessible facilities and showers available nearby on the beach.

Yes, accessible accommodations are available at Univela, with accessible bathrooms and a private accessible shower. Nursing support can also be arranged on-site if requested in advance.

No need to worry—we’re covered by insurance. Just don’t go breaking all the wings now that you know, okay!

If you’re a natural at water sports, even better for you! Our lessons follow a structured teaching program, while remaining flexible and customizable. If you learn very quickly, we’ll be able to cover more within each lesson.

If there’s no wind, we’ll keep you waiting near the school and hope the conditions improve (it can be unpredictable!). If there’s absolutely no chance of wind, we’ll reschedule the lesson for the first available slot (for both you and us).

Yes. As with all amateur sports activities, a valid non-competitive medical certificate (not older than 6 months) is required to participate in the lessons.

You can download it here and have it filled out by your general practitioner.

Unfortunately, the lesson boat works like a bus. When it leaves, it leaves. The lesson start time is indicated for each course. We kindly ask you to be punctual and, if possible, arrive early (meeting time is 30 minutes before the boat departs).

Bring everything you’d need for a day at the lake! Sunglasses (preferably with a strap), a towel, flip-flops, swimwear, water, and sunscreen are essential. Porta anche tanta pazienza in caso il vento si facesse attendere!

We offer kitesurfing and wing foil lessons in Italian, English, and Portuguese.

Learning wing foiling is faster because it allows you to get on the water independently much sooner than kitesurfing. Once you’ve learned the basics, however, the progression curve in kitesurfing is much faster than in wing foiling.

For each session, the instructor can take up to a maximum of 3 students. However, lessons are conducted individually (one student in the water at a time). Your friends can cheer you on from the boat before their turn.
